This compact charger for specific cameras in Sony's Cybershot line is compact, sturdy, and does a great job quickly charging the Sony NP-BG1 or NP-FG1 batteries. With its retractable (or "fold-out") rear plugs, it transports easily, there's no cord to store.

But due to its popularity, a flood of counterfeit versions are appearing online (especially on ebay). Unfortunately some of these are now finding their way onto Amazon as well. They are poorly built, cheap imitations that pose a risk of battery damage and even fire. So how do you tell the difference? How do you make sure you're not getting a fake?
