If you happen to rely on both Canon official batteries as well as third-party backups like I do, take heed. This charger specifically says on the box (not on the website!) that it will not charge third-party batteries. I bought it to replace a Canon charger that came with my 7D (otherwise identical to this one), except my old charger will charge all my batteries perfectly fine and this new one will not. It seems Canon put some sort of electronic block on non-Canon batteries, which is a total ripoff, frankly. Therefore, Canon won't be getting my money on this, as I am returning it immediately. My backup third-party charger is now more functional than my expensive Canon charger. That's all kinds of messed up.
