My RPTV developed a problem - no picture - and the indication was that bulb was dead. I powered off the TV and took out the bulb, sure enough, I could see a burnt end of the bulb filament.

I asked the repair folks and they wanted 150+ for the bulb and 85 for a visit. No thanks! I considered this bare bulb, and also bulbs which come in the harness for about 20 more. Having watched videos on YouTube, I felt confident that a bare bulb, handled properly, would do for me.

Delivery was quick, the package arrived with protection and the filament was intact. Changing the bulb took about 10 minutes - make sure you have rubber gloves on and you are not touching the bulb at all with bare hands anytime during the change. The TV sprang back to life. :-) Good luck, it is indeed a DIY project.

PCMD All-Metal Projector Ceiling Mount for BenQ MS612ST Review

I purchased this to instal a BenQ MS612ST projector and all the screws lined up well, which is all I can really ask for. It is well constructed and easy to install.

It is possible to adjust each relevant angle except there is no way to make a horizontal shift. Since the projector does not have a way to set a horizontal offset it was very important that this be center aligned to the projector screen, or at least very close. I had created a mounting shelf which the top plate screwed to, but on attaching the plate to the unit I noticed that the mounting plate does not line up with the center of the projector or the center of the lens. It is slightly off of each, so to center it perfectly I found the center of my shelf, which aligned to the center of my screen, and took a few measurements on the mounting plate to calculate my offset, then marked that.

Once I accounted for that slight difference I was able to line everything up perfectly with the remaining range of adjustments. It has been mounted several weeks and none of the angles have changed, which is good because the projector is mounted about 20' above the platform, so fixing it every week would not be acceptable.

One other word of "caution." I had planned a double header for the shelf this was mounted to. Basically two 2x4s attached to each other. The spacing on the mounting bracket did not allow for that as the screws would miss, so I had to use a triple header (three 2x4s) which allowed me to screw into the middle of the two outside boards. It isn't a big deal but if you are planning on adding something solid to screw into during your construction, be aware that you need something at least 4 1/2" square to mount to.
