My RPTV developed a problem - no picture - and the indication was that bulb was dead. I powered off the TV and took out the bulb, sure enough, I could see a burnt end of the bulb filament.I asked the repair folks and they wanted 150+ for the bulb and 85 for a visit. No thanks! I considered this bare bulb, and also bulbs which come in the harness for about 20 more. Having watched videos on YouTube, I felt confident that a bare bulb, handled properly, would do for me.
Delivery was quick, the package arrived with protection and the filament was intact. Changing the bulb took about 10 minutes - make sure you have rubber gloves on and you are not touching the bulb at all with bare hands anytime during the change. The TV sprang back to life. :-) Good luck, it is indeed a DIY project.
