My sixty inch Panasonic TV recently died on me. After digging around online and finding the maintenance manual for my model, it seemed that the overwhelmingly likely option was that there was a problem with one of the capacitors, and that I would have to disassemble the TV and do some soldering to fix it. There was, however, also a slim chance that a replacement lamp would fix the issue. So, hoping for a simpler solution, I went searching for a lamp. Unfortunately the actual Panasonic lamp was in the $350 dollar range anywhere that I could find it, so I opted to try this product as a cheaper alternative.

I received the lamp quickly, installation was wonderfully simple, and lucky me: It worked! I've been using the lamp heavily for the past couple of months now and have no complaints. The only reason that I rate 4 stars instead of 5 is that the bulb itself is not well secured in the lamp chassis, and so it may become misaligned with the opening in the chassis if the entire lamp is bumped with any force while in shipping or during installation. Fortunately, all it takes is another bump to shift it back, so there is no real difficulty.

UPDATE:

Bumping this down to three stars. Just died on me after 5 months of use. For the price, thats not really all that bad, but still could be much better.
