When it comes down to using aftermarket batteries in cameras, I am always hesitant. I have had very bad luck with them in the past and never find out that they don't work in my product after it is too late to return them. Needless to say, I was skeptical when I ordered this kit (at this time, there are no OEM batteries available anywhere for the LUMIX DMC-ZS30)and fully expected to be let down once they arrived.

Upon their arrival, I immediately assembled the charger (snapping the charging plate to the base) and plugged it into the wall. The first battery charged in a little under two hours, which is almost half the time that it takes the OEM battery to charge in-camera (this Lumix doesn't come with a wall charger.) As soon as the little light turned green (indicating a full charge) I popped the battery into the camera and was very pleased to find that the camera powered on!

Another nice thing is that (according to the batteries stats) one charge should last roughly thirty-eight percent longer than the OEM battery. (3.6V, 1700mAh, 6.1Wh vs. 3.6V, 1250mAh, 4.5Wh), but I cannot say for sure that it is the case since I haven't had the camera long enough to deplete a fully charged battery.

If you have the LUMIX DMC-ZS30, worry not when you decide to purchase this particular kit. To me, it is worth the price of the kit to have the wall charger alone. It is like I bought that and got two batteries for free! :)
